Aged 17, from Swanmore and studying Maths, Biology and P.E at Peter Symonds College, Winchester.
I enjoy sport and currently play rugby for my college and winchester rugby club, along with being a football referee in practice i am currently working in local pub. I have enjoyed cycling for many years and have recently started getting seriously in it.
I have chosen to participate in this charity cycling event to raise money for 'sophie's gift' with 4 friends, we were all good friends with sophie's brother at college and have been following her accident along the way. I have always been wishing her well, hoping that she is making a fast recovery, and feel that it is an extremely good cause to raise money for.
Aged 17, from Meonstoke and a student at Peter Symonds College studying Maths, Geography and Environmental Studies.
I have cycled regularly since I was about 14 and well as playing regular tennis for Swanmore as well as having a Level1 Coaching Assistant qualification.
My motivations for taking on this challenge are it being a great opportunity to challenge myself and it's also a chance to raise alot of money and awareness for a great cause after being extremely shocked by Sophie's accident, especially having known Tom, her brother, through school.
Aged 16, from Meonstoke. I'm at Peter Symonds College and I'm currently studying P.E, History and Environmental studies.
I play football for the college and also for Uphom football club. I am a keen cyclist as well and have recently started cycling long distances with four other mates. We regularly cycle to and from college.
I was good friends with tom (‘Wilko’) at school and when it was suggested to raise the money for Sophie’s gift we all jumped at the chance to help out. I believe very strongly in what the charity is doing and am very glad to help out and do my bit for this charity and Sophie.
Aged 17, from Boarhunt, studying Economics, Biology and Psychology at Peter Symonds.
Apart from college work, I am very keen on sports such as golf and cycling. I currently play a lot of golf and have a handicap of 4 and seriously got into road cycling around 8 months ago. I also enjoy to go to the gym 3 times a week aslong as time allows.
My reasons for choosing to participate in this event is due to me being very good friends with Sophie's brother tom and when i heard about the accident i was greatly shocked and i feel this would be a great way of raising money for Sophie's Gift. I feel this would be a great personal challenge and I would love to participate in any sort of event that raises money for Sophie's Gift.
Aged 17, from Swanmore and at Peter Symonds College and currently studying a National Diploma in Sport.
At the moment I play football for Alresford Town U18s and men’s reserves along with playing for the Peter Symonds College side. Also in my spare time I play other sports such as Tennis and Golf. I am currently undergoing my FA coaching qualifications and have recently completed my level 1 course. As for cycling I am fairly new to the sport but when I heard about the John O’groats to Lands End idea I jumped to the challenge.
My reasons for participating in this event are mainly to give something to a much deserved cause, as well as challenging myself to do something that will take much hard work and perseverance to complete.
